Astronomers have detected thousands of planets orbiting other stars. We study the attributes that make a planet habitable and we search for life on other worlds. However, potentially habitable worlds are more than 25,000,000,000,000 miles away. We can learn much from our discoveries of remote planets but, as noted by 2019 Nobel Laureate, Michel Mayor, we cannot travel to them. We must take care of Earth.
