Astrobeam uses optical metamaterials to steer laser beams without moving parts in optical free-space communication. This will significantly boost the core capability of satellite constellations, by improving the reliability, latency, and bandwidth of space-based network infrastructure, by removing the handicap that steering with moving parts currently imposes.
