Astrum Drive Technologies is a forward-thinking US-based space startup focused on developing advanced propulsion systems. Our team has developed a propellantless space propulsion technology, which has the potential to enable deep space travel, asteroid mining, and revolutionize satellite propulsion. This technology is based on an Einstein patent from 100 years ago and has been peer-reviewed and featured in top physics journals. We hold US and EU patents and have several working prototypes.
The concept behind our propulsion system draws inspiration from Einstein and Szilard's innovative heat-driven absorption cycle (US1781541 and GB282428) in the early 1930s. Their design employed a unique approach of using heat to drive the refrigeration process without moving parts, by intermittently heating and cooling the refrigerant. We have adapted and advanced this principle to create a propulsion system that operates without the need for traditional propellants.
Our propellantless propulsion technology offers significant advantages for satellite applications. By eliminating the need for onboard fuel storage, satellites equipped with our system can be lighter, more compact, and have extended operational lifetimes. This technology will enable satellites to perform efficient orbital maneuvers, precise station-keeping, and opens up new possibilities for satellite constellations and formations.
In addition to our work on propellantless propulsion, we are also actively researching warp drive technologies that could potentially revolutionize space travel. While still in the theoretical stages, our warp drive research aims to explore the possibilities of manipulating spacetime to achieve highly efficient propulsion and derivatives applications.
Our research is published in prestigious Q1 journals, we maintain partnerships with leading US institutions, including the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the National Science Foundation.
