The Aerospace Systems Engineering and Transportation (ASYST) Laboratory at the University of Arkansas is a research group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, USA. We focus on advancing aviation safety and transportation system performance through interdisciplinary research grounded in systems engineering, human factors, and data analysis.
Our lab investigates the complexities of human decision-making, pilot training methods, and accident prevention by integrating flight simulation, safety modeling, and aviation data analytics. Key research areas include aerospace systems design, human performance and factors, accident data analysis, and next-generation transportation systems.
We aim to bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world aviation operations by applying systems thinking to identify the root causes of failures and improve pilot proficiency.
