انشأت غرفة اسيوط التجارية في ظل القانون رقم 14 لسنة 1922 وكانت هي الوحيدة بالصعيد ثم صدر القانون رقم 30 لسنة 1940 وكلفت مصلحة التجارة و الصناعة في ذلك الوقت غرفة اسيوط بإنشاء غرف سوهاج - قنا - اسوان ثم صدر القانون الحالي 189 لسنة 1951 وفي عام 1965 ثم ضم محافظة الوادي الجديد لغرفة اسيوط وفي عام 1971 تم انشاء غرفة الوادي الجديد مستقلة عن غرفة اسيوط
