Atchayam Trust at Erode is a registered (Reg.No-10/2014) NGO established in the year 2014 by a great visionary Mr.P.NAVEENKUMAR M.E., a National Youth awardee and a State Youth awardee as awarded by Gov. of India and Gov. of Tamilnadu respectively. Being instrumental in striving for the well being of the vulnerable communities of people, he bags 70+ prestigious awards. The ultimate vision of the trust is to ‘Create a Beggar Free India’. We actively mobilized 400+ dynamic volunteers through awareness programs and outreached various districts of Tamilnadu, thereby rehabilitated 1253 homeless beggars, old aged, destitute, physically challenged and mentally ill people and counseled 11081 in the journey of 10 years of excellence in service. Atchayam is expanding its horizons by partnering with 37 organizations, 7450 volunteers and conducted 545 awareness programs, benefiting 70,000 people. Admitted 884 rescued individuals, reintegrated 91, and witnessed 75 individuals becoming volunteers. The organization also provides comprehensive resettlement and social entitlements, training 625 volunteers for the welfare of marginalized communities. Our initiative begins with outreach during fieldwork and surveying the potential cause that pulled a person out of the house and make them homelessness and driven into the act of begging. They are rescued once well groomed, freshly bathed and given new clothes to wear after a haircut, which exudes confidence in them. Apart from 24x7 medical support and assisted necessary therapies, they are provided with basic needs such as nutritional food, adequate clothes and a shelter with supportive environment. They are kept in observation Centre to ferret out their abilities and disabilities on physical and mental grounds. People with psychosocial disabilities are often incoherent, verbally aggressive, a few being reticent and seclusive in nature, are reluctant to speak.
