ATC Materials (ATC), Inc. specializes in high technology, composite materials for high temperature structural, dielectric, and impact resistance applications. The company was founded by Charles Inglefield in Cleveland, OH. Its Cleveland location provides research, development, and manufacture of lightweight armor products mostly for defense and aerospace use. Engineering and manufacturing of moldable high temperature dielectric materials, structural ceramics, composites, and other thermal protection materials and coatings are the focus of the company’s Flagstaff, AZ facility. These products are used to protect high value hardware and associated sensitive components that are exposed to harsh environments. In 2015, the US Department of Defense (DoD) Missile Defense Agency (MDA) awarded a multi-million dollar contract to ATC for a lightweight ballistic armor for protection of missiles from bullets and high velocity fragments during on-highway transportation. ATC has also been selected for aerospace and defense programs such as NASA’s Materials International Space Station Experiment (MISSE), development of extreme-environment antennas, missile radomes, and ballistic armor – both body and aircraft.
