Athens Parent Wellbeing

Being a parent is beautiful, but it can also be hard and isolating. The difficulty is only compounded when one or more of the parents involved is struggling with their mental health. The non-profit organization Athens Parent Wellbeing (APW), founded in 2021, works to promote the mental well-being of mothers and families throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period in the Athens area. Through a peer support program, providing subsidized appointments with professional therapists, and providing educational opportunities and community gatherings, APW is working to ensure that all families in the Athens area feel supported in their parenting journeys.
