AtKisson Group

**ARCHIVE PAGE** for The AtKisson Group, founded by Alan AtKisson in 1992, closed in 2018 when Alan became a Swedish government official and divested from his privately held companies. (Alan AtKisson retired from public service in January 2025 but remains active as a writer and speaker. See his personal website, AlanAtKisson.com.) The Group consisted of AtKisson Inc (USA, legally dissolved 2022), AtKisson Europe AB (SWE, legally dissolved 2018), and a network of affiliated firms and organizations around the world (which has continued in other forms). The Group provided expert advice, analysis, training, facilitation, communications, and strategic support to organizations, on issues related to sustainability, sustainable development, and transformative change, in over 50 countries, at local, regional, national, and global level. The firm was among the first of its kind and founder Alan AtKisson was recognized as a pioneer in the field of sustainability consulting (ISSP "Hall of Fame" 2013). Clients include large corporations (Levi Strauss, Nike, EY and many others), government agencies, universities, cities, NGOs, and the United Nations. The AtKisson Group was among the earliest examples of "social enterprises" operating on a global scale, consisting of a network of consulting firms, foundations, university centers, and independent practitioners, with representatives in over a dozen countries. Head offices were in Stockholm, Sweden, and Seattle, USA. In 2022, Alan donated all the intellectual assets of the firm to the international non-profit organization Compass Education (see CompassEducation.org), which had spun off from his firm ten years prior.
