The Amina Institute

Founded in 2017 by Goddess Amina, the Atlanta Institute of Tantra is a community rooted in somatic sexology and sacred sexuality. Fueled by a passion for inclusivity and representation, Goddess Amina embarked on a mission to address the discouraging lack of Black representation in the realms of tantra somatic sexology and sex-positive spaces. After two decades as being the only Black girl in the room, Amina felt the need for a community that celebrates diversity and welcomes BIPOC individuals in the field of sexuality. She took the initiative to begin hosting inclusive events with Black sexuality professionals, giving them a platform to share their expertise and create a sense of community with one another. With the growing demand from participants seeking to learn, Goddess Amina developed a curriculum which now serves as the foundation for the Somatic Sexology Certification Program she teaches today. Hosting private and group retreats across the globe from Costa Rica, to Thailand, Morocco and St. Lucia, as well as offering virtual workshops, webinars and seminars to members, Amina is committed to building a community of values. For students, Amina offers one on one mentorship, as well as group training, for a range of aspirations such as professional cuddlers, Tantric Bodyworkers, Sex Doulas, Erotic Embodiment Practitioners, Somatic Sexologists, Sacred Sex Coaches or Surrogate Partners. Due to the success of ATL Tantra, Goddess Amina was able to open her very first retreat center in Costa Rica in 2023, the Eros Retreat Center. Looking to make the move back to Panama though, Amina has officially developed a partnership with the La Semilla Eco Lodge in Panama City to relocate her practice and expand her community.
