Amics de la UNESCO de Barcelona dedicates all of its activities to facilitating the discovery of cultural and linguistic diversity as an extraordinary asset for humanity, and to promoting dialogue, coexistence, and respect for all cultures, religions, and languages of the planet. Awards: The Government of Catalonia awarded it the Cross of Sant Jordi on June 1, 1992, and the Barcelona City Council awarded it the Medal of Honor of Barcelona at the Plenary Council on February 4, 2005. Amics de la UNESCO de Barcelona is supported by contributions from its members, whether individuals or organizations, and carries out a wide range of activities through its volunteers, who may or may not also be members of the organization.
