Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University (Opened August 2019) Designed to increase the breadth of cultural expression found in the transformative power of the arts, Auburn University’s world-class performing arts center enriches the artistic life and profile of the university, state and beyond. The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, made possible through a lead gift from 1957 Auburn graduates John and Rosemary Brown, enhances the university’s academic endeavors and raises its standing as a culturally minded institution. The influence of this modern performing arts center is found in its promise of high-quality artistic opportunities, ranging from nationally touring Broadway productions and dance, orchestra and symphony performances, popular music, jazz, and more. Housing functional spaces with superior acoustics and fully integrated technology, the Gogue Center includes the indoor 1,204-seat Walter Stanley and Virginia Katharyne Evans Woltosz Theatre, the 4,000-capacity Bill and Carol Ham Amphitheatre, and 3,500-square-foot studio theatre that can accommodate up to 250 patrons.
