African Association of Urban Mobility Authorities - AUMA

Facing the growing challenges of urbanization and motorization in Africa, the African Association of Urban Mobility Authorities (AUMA) aspires to be the leading Pan-African platform for coordinating, regulating, and planning urban transport systems. Established in 2023 in Abidjan, AUMA's mission is to address the issues of urban mobility across Africa by promoting sustainable, inclusive, and accessible solutions for all. Over the next five years, its actions will focus on three main areas: 1. Governance, strategy, and financing of urban mobility. 2. Planning and development of mass transportation. 3. Professionalization of artisanal transport. Additionally, AUMA aims to: - Facilitate a network for exchanging experiences and best practices. - Provide a consultation framework on urban mobility challenges. - Serve as a tool for strengthening the capacities of urban mobility authorities. - Promote international cooperation for sustainable development.
