AUTISM ROMANIA-Association of parents of Children with Autism- NGO funded in 2001 by parents and professionals in order to advocate for better lives of their children and to create opportunities for their development and inclusion into the community. Our areas of interest and our main activities: - advocacy, - empowerment of people with autism and their families to know their rights and to be active participants in decision-making process at national and local levels, - rise autism awareness in general public - better autism understanding in Romanian society (information and training for parents, professionals, employers, authorities, and other stakeholders). - support for people with autism and their families (counseling, referrals, programs, activities, opportunities for autistic people for the development of social, communication, independent life, and community participation abilities )
