Zekwande Foundation

The Zekwande Foundation was formed to fulfill the expressed mission of supporting nonspeaking autistics who do not have access to educational facilities and communication mechanisms. "The Zekwande Foundation was started by a young autistic advocate, namely me, Zekwande Mathenjwa. I know what it’s like to be trapped in silence and I want to change this for other nonspeakers like me. My loving family started this foundation upon my request, together we hope to change the lives of many, and mindsets too. Please do join us in our venture." The Zekwande Foundation was started and conceptualised by Zekwande Mathenjwa in 2020 to: - Assist nonspeaking autistics who are still trapped in their own bodies. - Make the world see nonspeaking autistics as competent. - Help the world understand the body-mind disconnect of autistics. - Not speak for autistics but teach them to speak for themselves. - Explain nonspeaking autism from a nonspeaking autistic perspective. - Improve representation of autistic people in autism advocacy work. - Provide support for nonspeaking autistics who do not have access to educational facilities and communication mechanisms. - Reduce stigma around nonspeaking autism. Zekwande Foundation is a registered Not for Profit Company (NPC) of South Africa under Section 21 No. (2020/871041/08).
