Automated Vehicle Engineering System (AVES) Research Group

Automated Vehicle Engineering System (AVES) is a research group from Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia. AVES research group providing solutions and technical support focusing on safety testing of automated driving domain. We provide consultation and technical training focusing on the safety testing of virtual and physical vehicle safety systems using software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and Digital Twin-based Safety Testing. AVES research group also has vast experience in this domain and we have professional teams who understand and deliver requirements for safety testing related to vehicle safety and ADAS technology. AVES also is focusing on the virtual and physical safety assessment for automated driving system based on the Operational Design Domain (ODD) of specific location and areas. The ODD is designed to emphasize the static element of physical environment for safety testing of automated driving system. AVES also supports for the development of test scenarios relevant to Malaysian road and traffic environment based on actual data collected from selected road in Malaysia. The test scenarios will be designed based on ISO and United Regulation standards which is required for safety assessment of an automated driving system.
