AUTORE is a small Southern Italian chocolate confectionery. The company mission is to create excellent product that combines tradition and innovation. Based in the small town of San Marco dei Cavoti in the Campania region, one hour away from Naples. Some of AUTORE's original recipes can be traced back to 100 B.C. when a block of sugar, almonds and hazelnuts, the original nougat, went under the name of “cupedia”, a term used to describe gluttony for the fine of delicate foods! It was marketed in Ancient Rome and noted by Roman poets. Later, bite-sized and covered in rich dark chocolate, it became a favourite of the Bourbon King of Naples, Ferdinando I. From there it made its way quickly to the tables of popes and nobles all over Europe.

Nowadays, using selected ingredients and following traditional methods, we produce a range of regional specialities that we continuously enrich with new recipes rich in freshness and originality. The finest ingredients, necessary to achieve the authentic flavours which capture the essence of our products, are obtained by embarking on a journey of discovery to meticulously handpick the best possible raw materials, a range of locally sourced produce of the highest quality. Our chocolatiers work in San Marco dei Cavoti, a little village deep in the heart of the Campania hills in Southern Italy where, for generations, people have dedicated their lives to the fine art of chocolate making. Our distinctive pastel-colour wrappers encapsulate the timeless endeavour to unveil the secret at the heart of chocolate.
