AUTURITY

Auturity (awe-TCHURE-ih-tee), is a non-profit organization established in 2023 with concentrated efforts geared towards filling the gap in services for autistic adults as they transition into adulthood and ultimately a world not yet equipped to consider or meet their needs. The name Auturity blends the words “Autism” and “maturity”, and creates a word that promotes both careful consideration and stable growth. We utilize careful consideration to meet the needs of autistic adults in order to advance their growth in today’s society ultimately helping them meet the challenges of an evolving world. The tagline “Supporting the Awesome in Adult Autism” embodies our work and essentially allows for the utilization of a strengths-based approach when facilitating the transition into adulthood, assisting them with critical resources that can promote opportunities for them to become the best version of themselves. Auturity is distinct in that it connects autistic adults and their supportive community (parents, caregivers, families) to the appropriate resource(s), such as a primary care doctor, attorney, employer, or education liaison in a sensory-focused manner. We provide virtual, on the clock support to our community. “Autism Unity in the Community” is a series of monthly community social events that will be held within different counties throughout Georgia. Our Autism Unity in the Community events encourage socialization and help autistics build their own community, but also accommodate the entire family. The celebratory events bring families experiencing autism together—helping them foster connections and gain the resources they need to excel.
