Our focus to date is on B-cell associated diseases with a spotlight on leukemia with the aim to establish effective companion diagnostics and precision guided therapy. For many years, chemotherapy and radiation were the standard cancer treatments. However, these treatments are extremely unspecific, cause strong side effects and often diminish the patient’s life quality. Still today, in the age of therapeutic antibodies, existing therapies are not sufficiently targeted to distinguish healthy cells from cancerous cells. Accordingly, curative therapies with low side effects seem like a distant dream today.
