AGH AVADER

The AVADER student research club was established at the turn of 2014/2015 and operates at the Embedded Vision Systems Group, Computer Vision Laboratory, Department of Automatic Controls and Robotics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, AGH University of Krakow. We are a group of people interested in embedded vision systems and hardware acceleration of vision algorithms. Our research and projects are focused on Advanced Video Surveillance Systems (AVSS), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). We are also interested in embedded AI, event cameras, LiDAR sensor data analysis and neuromorphic computing. Most of our work is carried out using reprogrammable FPGAs and Zynq FPGA SoCs (a combination of an FPGA chip and an ARM processor system). We have a range of evaluation boards available: Zybo, VC 707, VC 709, ZC 702, ZC 706, Smart Vision Development Kit, ZCU 104 and Kria. In addition, we carry out some work on embedded GPU platforms - the Jetson series from Nvidia. We participate in international competitions (e.g. Xilinx Open Hardware), Student Scientific Group Sessions, we prepare publications for national and international conferences and journals, we complete engineering and master theses, we participate in events promoting science and AGH, i.e. Open Days, Science Festival or Researchers' Night.
