Avan Tech Innovation Private Limited, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is an award-winning environmental technology startup dedicated to sustainable innovation, water conservation, and energy efficiency. Recognized under the Startup India initiative by the Government of India.This company has emerged as a pioneer in developing indigenous, patented technologies that address everyday environmental challenges. At the core of Avan Tech's mission is its flagship invention, Jalraksha – India’s first patented automatic water level controller with a submersible starter. Jalraksha is an electromechanical solution that conserves significant amounts of underground water and electricity by preventing overflow and dry-run conditions in water tanks. It is widely applicable in homes, schools, hospitals, industries, public buildings, and transport hubs like railway stations and RTC complexes. Jalraksha has demonstrated the ability to save 1.314 billion liters of water, 6.57 million kWh of electricity, and reduce 5.39 million kg of CO₂ emissions over six years with just 2,000 units installed. The innovation is being implemented as a pilot project under AMRUT 2.0, initiated by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, starting with Srikakulam Municipality, with plans to expand to more cities and towns across the country. The company is driven by a strong focus on Research & Development (R&D), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and Commercialization. Avan Tech holds multiple Indian and international patents, including a patent granted in Japan, and has technologies that reduce up to 50% of plastic usage.
