AWEaP is a non-profit established to accelerate African women entrepreneurs' participation in the Power & Energy sector. Our ambition is to support and attract women to participate in the energy sector such that by 2023 we will have 500 established and operating SMMEs and SMEs in the energy and power sectors. We target 100 women from 22 markets annually. We focus on unlocking opportunities, for women founder SMMEs, where energy intersects with other industries such as agriculture, health, water, telecommunications, transport and mobility, housing and security. The programme is delivered through 4 strategic interventions: - In country mobilisation events for 22 countries in Southern Africa, East and West Africa - A 6 months tailored Entrepreneurial Accelerator for women in Energy and Power - Women Entrepreneur in Energy Online Directory to showcase innovation by African women for the energy and power sectors, and leading entrepreneurs in the sector - Annual SMME and SME showcase at international energy and power sector events
