AXEL‘s CEO, Bernie Squitieri, has been in the passenger transport industry for 30+ years. Bernie successfully owned and operated several ambulance, non-emergency medical transport (NEMT), shuttle bus & taxi companies in 15 states over the span of his career. In fact, Bernie’s NEMT company became one of the largest providers in St. Louis prior to its sale. Bernie also has lobbied for legislation, served as a consultant and is very well-respected as an industry expert & employer. A few years after selling, Bernie realized a need for a provider who not only understood the industry, but also is genuinely committed to excellent customer service and was compelled to start AXEL! And, he was able to quickly and easily fill key positions with industry veterans eager to reunite under his leadership. AXEL operates a fleet of newer commercial vehicles -- well maintained by our ASE-certified Mechanic & Porter Staff. Each vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking as well as forward- and rear-facing cameras. Our investment ensures the safest most comfortable passenger experience.
