AXISD – Applied Cross-disciplinary Investigations in Science & Design

AXISD is a research group based at Louisiana State University and led by Dr. Fabiana Trindade da Silva, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture. The group is dedicated to integrating science, engineering, and design to address complex environmental and urban challenges. Through applied research, AXISD explores innovative strategies for climate adaptation, ecological resilience, and sustainable development. Our work brings together landscape architecture, environmental modeling, infrastructure planning, and interdisciplinary methods. We investigate the performance of nature-based and hybrid systems using data-driven workflows, simulation tools, and research-informed design approaches. Projects span coastal systems, urban environments, and green-blue infrastructure, engaging students and collaborators across fields.
