The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Georgia in 2009 to serve as the fundraising vehicle for AYWS, providing for both current needs and cultivating endowments in perpetuity. The Foundation has furthered the mission and vision of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony by providing music commission funding, supplies, reception goods, instruments, personnel fees, printing and publishing, and student scholarships throughout its tenure.
The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, as the premier youth wind ensemble in the Atlanta metropolitan area, provides positive and transformative musical experiences for talented high school musicians through high-quality instruction and exceptional music-making opportunities. AYWS aspires to enhance the lives of its members and those in the Atlanta community by promoting musical excellence, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for music, and collectively serving as a cultural ambassador and advocate throughout the United States and the world. By challenging and nurturing its members musically, socially, and intellectually, the AYWS seeks to foster the development of sophisticated musical skills and strong values among its members in an artistic, non-competitive, and inclusive environment.
