In 1976 Bill Brown purchased a general tool rental store operating under the name Taylor Rental in Salem VA. He changed the name to Salem Rental Center in 1979. The following year he purchased another store, Aztec Rental, which had been in operation since 1964. All subsequent stores would carry the Aztec name. A wedding and special events division was added, at first consisting of a few tables and chairs and some smaller tents. Over the next 20 years locations were added in Lynchburg, Blacksburg and most recently at Smith Mountain Lake. The special event division has seen tremendous growth and Aztec now offers a whole spectrum of party items, ranging from large frame tents to fine china, dance floors, specialty fabric linens, centerpieces and so much more. We still have a general tool and contractor rental division, but our party department is our passion! We continue to add to our inventory, and to seek out new and unique items to offer our clients. Our goal is to take your vision, our inventory and expertise, and turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!
