Azuravesta Creative

Azuravesta Creative is a scientific media production studio run by Avesta Rastan – a professionally-trained scientific illustrator and animator. Avesta specializes in the visual communication of complex biomedical topics such as medicine, anatomy, pathology, biology, structural biology/biochemistry, as well as the natural and physical sciences. Services include art direction, medical illustration, design, storyboarding, 2D/3D animation, and data visualization. Avesta's background in Life Sciences (BSc) and professional training in the Biomedical Communications program (MScBMC) at the University of Toronto – one of 5 accredited medical illustration programs in North America – make her uniquely suited to tackle complex visual communication challenges within healthcare and academia. Her work has previously been published in high-impact journals including Nature and Cell, as well as featured on the American Association of Ophthalmology website, and a variety of other digital outlets.
