Back Four was created in 2011, prompted by decades of experience of protecting global brands including Manchester United, Nike and Converse from counterfeiting and brand abuse. Not only did we learn how to defend brands and combat counterfeiting, we also discovered the many ways we could do more to safeguard the legacies that had been built.
Our experience and belief – coupled with new ideas for tackling intellectual property abuse – persuaded the Premier League to employ Back Four to implement and manage its Anti-Counterfeiting Programme. The programme has been a huge success and it confirmed our methods worked. Since then, as well as protecting the Premier League and its clubs, we have been able to transfer our philosophy to other brands.
