CV writing isn’t regulated in the UK and this makes it hard for job seekers to identify good CV writers that will help them secure that all-important interview.
If you’re a self-employed, independent CV writer, especially if you work alone, there isn’t a strong community in the UK to share ideas, best practice, and generally collaborate.
To address both issues, the British Association of CV Writers (BACVW) was founded.
The BACVW is a not-for-profit unincorporated association with the intention of building a community for CV writers, enabling members to:
Share best practice, ideas, experience, and information
Gain different perspectives
Encourage each other
Build relationships with fellow CV writers
Provide a better client experience and service
Jobseekers who employ the services of a BACVW member can be assured that they have agreed to our code of ethics, are committed to continuing professional development, and have passed a basic CV writing test.
All this ultimately means that members provide a better service to their clients and jobseekers are protected from CV writers who might not have the values or ethics that the BACVW promotes.
Our key aims are to:
Ensure that anyone who employs the services of a BACVW member has the assurance that they have passed a basic cv writing test and have agreed to our code of ethics.
Provide a welcoming community for CV writers to learn and share.
