BAERENFELL is a collective art fund reimagining the spirit of collective art acquisition for the Berlin creative scene. Inspired by the historic French art collecting syndicate ‘La Peau de l’Ours’ founded by André Level in 1904, our project brings together five friends united by a passion for supporting emerging artistic talent.
In 2019, we pooled our resources to purchase works by promising young artists, which are then randomly distributed among our members through a collaborative raffle every six months.
Our mission is simple: democratize art collection, provide direct support to up-and-coming creators, and inject a sense of playful anticipation into the world of art ownership. By rotating the artworks between our homes every half-year, we ensure that each piece finds new life, new context, and new conversations.
To us, BAERENFELL is more than an art fund - it's a living, breathing experiment in communal creativity, friendship, and the joy of unexpected artistic encounters.
