About BAIF Institute for Sustainable Livelihoods & Development-MP

BAIF Institute for Sustainable Livelihoods and Development (BAIF Livelihoods), is a not-for-profit Organization registered under Section 8 (formerly Section 25) of the Companies Act, 1956 and formally established on April 16th, 2012. BAIF Livelihoods is closely associated with BAIF Development Research Foundation, a reputed Non-Government Organization founded in 1967 by Dr. Manibhai Desai, a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. The Mission of BAIF Livelihoods is to create opportunities of gainful self-employment for the rural families, especially disadvantaged sections, ensuring sustainable livelihood, enriched environment, improved quality of life and good human values. This is being achieved through effective use of local resources, extension of appropriate technologies and up gradation of skills and capabilities with community participation. BAIF Livelihoods is a non-political, secular and professionally managed organization. The operations of BAIF Livelihoods are spread over 4 regions: North, South, West and East. The programmes of BAIF Livelihoods are being implemented across 14 states of India through a team of senior development professionals and field implementation staff. BAIF has achieved several milestones in diverse sectors of rural development during its journey of over 25 years in Madhya Pradesh. BAIF Livelihoods outreach is spread across 33 districts of Madhya Pradesh and is headquartered in Bhopal. BAIF Livelihoods Madhya Pradesh is implementing various programmes in Livestock, Land, and Natural Resources Management sectors to develop the weaker sections of the communities towards Sustainable Development and has impacted the lives of more than 0.61 lakh families from 6805 villages in 33 districts including the aspirational districts of Barwani, Chattarpur, Damoh, Guna, Khandwa (East Nimar), Rajgarh, and Vidisha.
