Bait Byout is a Palestinian nongovernmental youth-based independent organization established in 2006, registered as a charitable society with the Ministry of Interior, under the number RA-22445-HR. The organization’s work stems from its solid belief in the tools of LARP and Gaming as powerful and diverse tools for capacity-building, communication, conflict resolution, education, decision-making and addressing social and political issues.
The name Bait Byout comes from a title of a popular roleplaying game for kids who pretend to be adults and create new and alternative realities.
What is LARP?
LARP is an abbreviation for (Live Action Role Playing), a form of role-playing game where the participants physically act out their characters' actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world while interacting with each other in character. The outcome of player actions may be mediated by game rules or by consensus among players.
LARP is collaborative and interactive community art that allows the participants to plunge themselves fully into different worlds or universes. With an array of costumes, props and scenography, this setting becomes the backdrop for a unique and astounding experience.

Through role-playing and other games, Bait Byout aims to develop the life skills of individuals, particularly youth and children, as it seeks to equip young people to take more empowered and leading roles in their societies, whilst also shedding light on relevant cultural and societal issues.
