The Ohio State Baja Buckeyes SAE Team

Baja Buckeyes is a student organization built to develop members’ understanding of the automotive and powersports businesses and provide hands-on experiences that expand knowledge of engineering and fabrication practices. As a student-managed off-road race team, the group strives to present challenges to members, enabling them to learn the important elements of project management, business management and engineering design. Each year, our team has the task of designing, fabricating and racing an off-road vehicle to compete with various other universities and colleges around the world in annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) competitions. We design our vehicles from scratch each year and fabricate most of each vehicle in our Student Projects Shop at CAR. At the SAE competitions at end of each year the vehicle is judged on design, functionality, performance, cost and business prospect. Our team allows students, faculty and other members of the community to pool resources and knowledge to continuously improve our vehicle designs and our abilities as engineers. This team is a non profit organization under The Ohio State College of Engineering.
