Balance in Mind

Balance in Mind is a community based organization working to raise awareness around youth mental health and emotional wellbeing. We began with a group of parents who were concerned about recent teen deaths by suicide. We took time to interview parents, educators, counselors, students, and mental health professionals to try to understand how we could make a difference. Our mission is to raise awareness around youth emotional health and connect families to existing resources. We serve the mission by educating parents about risk factors, as well as protective factors such as social emotional skills. We work in conjunction with Lake Washington School District, Lake Washington PTSA Council, local PTSAs, and community organizations supporting mental health.
