Balipara Foundation

Balipara Foundation is focused on a community based approach to conservation which uses a proprietary approach, Naturenomics. Our focus is on making the Eastern Himalayan communities the stewards of the conservation agenda, instead of external conservation organizations or agencies. We achieve this by managing a series of community based conservation programmes delivered and coordinated from our conservation centre, the Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark nestled in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Balipara, Assam. All our efforts are brought to fruition through an interdisciplinary team of over 50 people who have passionately contributed to building this organization for over 10 years. We constantly seek to explore innovative conservation models and theories which can only arise from the kind of cross disciplinary platform which is set up by the Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum, our annual global forum held in the Eastern Himalayas every year.
