In 2022 ben ik gestart met het telen van bamboe voor voedsel, hout en vezelproductie.
Bamboe, wat kan je daar toch mee? Hier wat feitjes op een rij:
- Bamboe is enorm populair. Draag jij op dit moment bamboe ondergoed? Of heb je iets anders in huis van dit prachtige product?
- Al eens bamboe gegeten? Misschien ken je het wel van tjap tjoy.
- Bamboevezel is erg sterk en licht en is daarom een mooie vervanger voor bijv. kunststof, glasvezel en staal.
- Sommige soorten woekeren, dat klopt. Maar dat kan eenvoudig beperkt worden door een gleuf te maken langs het perceel of een stevige wortelbegrenzer te plaatsen.
- Bamboe neemt gemiddeld 15-20ton CO2 op per hectare per jaar, heeft een hoge stikstof opname en zuurstof uitstoot en levert daarmee een positieve bijdrage aan onze samenleving.
