BIRD was formed in 2020, registered in 2022 as a means to analyse and respond to some of the critical issues facing our societies in terms of equitable and sustainable development. The past few years have shown that challenges to our well-being are likely to intensify and become harder to solve. These include social inequality, emerging diseases, climate change and loss of biodiversity. To identify appropriate and sustainable solutions to the problems we are facing, BIRD provides high quality interdisciplinary research and programme development services to our partners in Thailand and internationally.
We have a small core team in order to maintain our agility to be an effective, responsive and reliable partner. We intend to be prudent in building our organisation. We call in and contract independent consultants in support of our work where and when operationally necessary.
Our expertise is multi-sectoral, covering human rights, public health, social development, the environment and biodiversity. We see the fundamental importance of increasing awareness of climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss in our development work. Providing evidence-based solutions is at the heart of what we do.
We have strong capacity in programme development and programme cycle management, including situation analyses, strategic planning, results framework development, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and research.
