The Bantu Institute aims to introduce Capoeira Angola – an Afro-Brazilian art form that possesses elements of dance, fight, game and musicality - utilising it as a tool. For Psychosocial Education for young people from a refugee background, at-risk youth, vulnerable children and children-in- conflict-with-law. Capoeira Angola classes build resilience by using each individual’s innate mental strengths and unique kinesthetic movements for personal growth and recovery from trauma. 2. The Institute aims to deliver training and create work experience opportunities for Capoeira practitioners, Youth Assistants and other professionals that use Capoeira for psychosocial education to work with vulnerable children and adolescents worldwide throughout the year. 3. The Institute aims to Organise and manage the annual International Symposium “Ginga Social Educa Cultural” (Socio-Educational and Cultural Ginga) in partnership with Universities and other related organisations or institutions in different countries. The Symposium’s primary goal is to bring together Capoeiristas engaged in youth development programs. And facilitate an exchange of knowledge and methodologies that will enrich each other’s personal and professional practices as well as promoting this new narrative approach to empower vulnerable young people.
