Much of its technological development has been devoted to the testing solutions of elastomeric materials and plastics.

The leading position in the industry has also made Bareiss the very first DAkkS calibration laboratory in Germany (for hardness testing of elastomers) accredited and supervised by DAkkS - the highest technical authority under the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in Germany. This accreditation, following the ISO17025, enables Bareiss to provide calibration services on Shore and IRHD testing devices which can be done in Bareiss's laboratory facility or in the field. An official DAkkS calibration certificate thus can be issued by Bareiss after the calibration service is done.
