Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Development Authority

The Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Development Authority is the marketing agency tasked and funded by the City of Barnesville and Lamar County for economic development. Our mission is to create and maintain economic wealth in our community. Our regional workforce pipeline is filled by students from Gordon State College, Southern Crescent Technical College all of which are located either in our community or within a 20 minute drive. Our own Lamar County High School has its own College and Career Academy which allows high school students to earn college credit and associates degrees while in high school. Our manufacturing legacy was born in the transportation and textile industries. We also enjoy the diversity of the wood and wood products sectors as well as energy production and who can resist pecan candies or barbecue sauce.
