Basement Takeover

Somewhere between the hustle of life and the monotony of the Top 40s, lives some amazing local music that’s not given its due. At this point in time, India is bustling with musical talent that, for whatever reason, is not allowed to gain any of the spotlight. We, at Basement Takeover, want to change this. What started off as a random experiment in a basement, has grown into an active community that gets together on a monthly basis to appreciate some of the best underground, original music that Delhi-NCR has to offer. In this, we decided to move the scene out of the mundane and exploitative pub/club environment, and curate experiences in a home, allowing musicians, and the audience alike, to interact with each other in a closed, intimate setting, giving both of them the opportunity to really connect. From our first proper gig in February 2019, we’ve grown from a community of 21 people to over a 1100 people - with every successive instalment attracting even more like-minded individuals.
