The name Batavion ties back to the region in the Netherlands where Cihat Fitzgerald’s roots lie, that the Romans called Batavia and home of the germanic Batavi tribe. Being located in the Rhine delta, now a region called the Betuwe, the Batavi were superior in engaging adversaries on horseback, fully armored, in the marshes and waters of the Rhine delta. Hence, the Batavi were enlisted into, and formed large component of, the Roman Legion as cavalry in Germania, as the Romans did not possess this ability.
