Batcam

There are 2.5 million blind people in Europe who struggle everyday with orientating themselves. One of the problems they face is accidents with obstacles that are not detected by the blind cane. Those obstacles include signs, side-mirrors and tree branches and can cause severe pain. The Batcam consists of a pair of glasses. The user is informed about the exact location of obstacles via vibrations on the sides of the glasses, so that the user avoids the obstacles and walks around them safely. The Batcam is the only product on the market that is able to give the user accurate directional feedback, while being hands-free, fashionable and very intuitive to use. We plan to add new features to the product, such as product recognition and text reading, so that the user only needs one product instead of three. We believe we can offer the blind community an affordable, multifunctional, yet fashionable-looking product.
