BBG has solved many environmental and energy consumption problems associated with traditional breweries and carbonated beverage manufacturers. Using a combination of advanced technologies, BBG can build beverage manufacturing facilities that are CO2 neutral, energy self-sufficient, and capable of high-volume production at a much lower cost than traditional manufacturers. BBG is able to achieve CO2 neutrality by using advanced CO2 recovery techniques. When producing beer, breweries conduct a process of malting, milling, mashing, and fermenting grain. During this process, a significant amount of CO2 is created and released. BBG recovers the CO2 that would otherwise be lost and stores it for its own use and for resale. BBG is not just energy self-sufficient, it can generate enough energy to sell surplus electricity back to the power grid. During the brewing process, residual materials such as spent grains and yeast can be fermented to form biogas. In BBG’s facilities, biogas is converted into thermal and electrical energy in a combined heat and power unit (CHP). In addition, after being used to produce biogas, the remnants of the brewing process can be recycled to sell as protein supplements and fertilizer. BBG uses much less water than traditional beverage manufacturers. In a typical brewery or beverage plant, anywhere from one to three gallons of water is used for every gallon of beer or beverage produced. The water reclamation and purification system we use reduces water use by 80%. Further purification and treatment of water can be used to help replicate the flavor profile of almost any beer. This allows BBG to formulate and supply beer to other brands.
