BBMRI.at – the Austrian biobanking research Infrastructure – is the national node of the European biobanking research infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC. It consists of and links national Austrian universities and biobanks with the goal to further develop biobanking in Austria to support and accelerate biomedical research using biological samples.
BBMRI.at develops approaches to make it easier for researchers from universities and industry to access biobanks and establish research collaborations using quality-defined samples and data. Moreover, BBMRI.at has a leading role in the development of ISO and CEN standards for sample, data and quality management.
BBMRI.at’s work is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF).
