BD Costs Limited is a new costs company that aims to assist Solicitors with all of the support, which a modern Solicitor’s Practice requires dealing predominantly, although not exclusively with receiving party’s costs. In addition to providing traditional cost drafting services such as bill drafting and dealing with assessment, BD Costs will assist with all aspects of costs in an ever changing costs landscape. BD Costs aims to provide a service that can be tailored to meet your needs and the level of support required. This can be as minimal as providing single advices, one-off training or preparation of a bill, through to dealing with costs throughout the assessment process from bill of costs through to final hearing. More and more matters are becoming subject to some form of Fixed Costs and with it comes more and more inventive arguments from those acting for insurers to reduce, frustrate or delay these. BD Costs will use their experience in dealing with arguments arising out of Fixed Costs both in terms of dealing with individual cases and advising clients on these matters more generally. Traditionally when dealing with costs, draftsmen looked retrospectively at the work which had been done and looked to maximise recovery of the same. With costs budgeting, draftsmen most look prospectively at the work which needs to be done. BD Costs understands that this is a collaborative process between solicitor and draftsman. We will look to provide bespoke and innovative ways of ensuring that all necessary future steps are accounted for within your budget and that the costs of those steps are properly explained to the Court so as best to maximise recovery of those costs. We will aim to deal with this with minimal disruption to yourselves in order that you may concentrate on the case management aspect of your client’s claim. Above all, BD Costs seeks to be innovative and adaptive to meet the needs of our clients in a challenging and ever-changing costs world.
