Addressing the alarming rates of suicide among men in the North East, we advocate for proactive measures that equip men with essential life skills, while challenging traditional notions of masculinity. By integrating the World Health Organisation's recommended life skills and utilising the Five Ways to Wellbeing model, our approach aims to enhance men's life satisfaction with the knock on effects being a decrease in suicide rates. This involves fostering deeper community relationships, providing education on practical tools and strategies, fostering a shared vision, and promoting mutual accountability.
