Beam is building a platform to help project finance investors better manage risk. We create a “digital twin” to paper securities: resulting in low cost mechanisms to facilitate ratings in addition to underwriting, monitoring, and sale. Our beachhead focus is medium-sized energy project loans: which are heterogeneous, contractually complex, and suffer from relatively high cost of capital; yet are growing rapidly and enjoy unique interest from investors. Beam is at a very early stage, but the idea has met enthusiasm from initial pilot customers, and we are looking to collaborate with more project financiers.
