The project aims to tackle one of the main issues facing the Atlantic Area's Blue Bioeconomy sector: the lack of knowledge about marine organisms, particularly those that are not currently used for commercial purposes (such as new strains of algae, marine fungi, and sponges), and how to valorize them in order to create novel, cutting-edge bioactive compounds and products for a range of industries. New approaches for their industrial application will result from the study of these unexplored creatures. This will be accomplished through Product Tests, which are intended to be internal knowledge transfer procedures that produce new, high-value, sustainable, and reasonably priced products from new compounds.
