Bear Earth CIC

In Sri Lanka, the home place of Bear Earth’s founder Zinthiya Ganeshpanchan, one pack of sanitary products costs around 200 rupees, which is the equivalent of a day’s wage. Zinthiya said: “In the majority of countries throughout the world, women and girls continue to use traditional methods such as rags. Realistically, we know that we won’t be able to change this overnight in every corner of the world, but what we can do is help to educate women on how to be hygienic and use these traditional methods safely and dispose them in an environmentally friendly way thereby supporting these communities." Bear Earth CIC is a non-profit organisation set up to help fight period poverty among disadvantaged women and girls around the world. Through our sanitary product subscription service we are raising funds to educate women and girls on menstrual and personal hygiene to put an end to period poverty and the stigma associated with it.
